Jinx vs Caitlyn ADC Matchup
Jinx ADC wins 52.6% of 38,734 Low Elo games against Caitlyn ADC, +0.0 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.
Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.
How to play as Jinx
Contest the level 1 wave using Fishbones rockets from lane brush to prevent Caitlyn from getting an uncontested push and trapping you under your turret.
Stand to the side of the minion wave rather than directly behind low-health creeps: this forces Caitlyn to choose between hitting you or pushing the wave with Piltover Peacemaker.
As Switcheroo!(Q) gains ranks, Fishbones' range grows; at rank 5 it reaches 725, so use it to poke from beyond Caitlyn's 650 basic-attack range. Until then, check the current range and avoid extended trades into her net.
Fishbones' range increases as Switcheroo!(Q) gains ranks and reaches 725 at rank 5, beyond Caitlyn's 650 basic-attack range.
How to play as Caitlyn
When Jinx farms with Pow-Pow(Q), use your longer attack range to threaten a hit if the support matchup, wave, and enemy jungler make it safe; respect her rocket range and any engage threat.
Push for plates when your support can hold lane space and you have tracked the enemy jungler; use traps around Jinx's likely approach, and avoid forcing an unsafe crash. If the lane stays even, expect her later teamfights to be difficult to match.
Caitlyn's 650 basic-attack range exceeds Jinx's 525-range Pow-Pow minigun by 125 units, giving Caitlyn a range advantage when Jinx farms with the minigun.
Yordle Snap Trap(W) lasts longer than Flame Chompers!(E), but Caitlyn's traps expire and are capped; they provide temporary lane control, not permanent chokepoints.
