Kayle vs Illaoi Top Matchup

Kayle Top wins 54.0% of 1,091 Low Elo games against Illaoi Top, +2.6 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.

Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.

How to play as Kayle

Farm behind minions and dodge Test of Spirit(E); clear nearby tentacles when safe, and leave when Illaoi casts Leap of Faith(R) rather than trading inside it.

Divine Judgment(R) makes Kayle or an ally invulnerable briefly, which can absorb the damage window Illaoi creates with Leap of Faith(R).

Kayle gains attack range as she levels, making it harder for Illaoi to reach her with Harsh Lesson(W) later in the game.

How to play as Illaoi

Use early Grasp trades to push Kayle away from the wave and build a lead before her range increases; zone her from farm when she backs off instead of chasing for a kill.
