Why Lux is favored

Lux can harass Aphelios from outside comfortable attack range with Lucent Singularity(E), then use Light Binding(Q) to hold him for a burst follow-up. Aphelios has no dash to escape the bind, so being poked off the wave or rooted while last-hitting creates a strong lane advantage for Lux.

How to play as Lux

Use Lucent Singularity(E) to pressure Aphelios as he approaches the wave, then hold Light Binding(Q) for a last-hit or after he has committed to a weapon trade; a root gives you time to detonate E and follow with Final Spark(R).

Light Binding(Q) binds up to two enemy units, so it can catch Aphelios through one front minion; Aphelios has no dash to reposition if the root lands.

How to play as Aphelios

Keep two minions between you and Lux to block Light Binding(Q), and bait Lucent Singularity(E) by stepping into its range then back out before committing to a trade. If her Q misses, use the cooldown window to move up.
