How to play as Graves

Use Quickdraw(E) to keep armor stacks during close trades and pressure Kayn before he can safely reach form; Kayn players identify Graves as a sustained counter rather than a matchup that disappears after one early duel.

Quickdraw(E) grants Graves armor and can refresh that resistance boost as he keeps attacking, which helps against Kayn's physical-damage kit in close skirmishes.

Graves' shotgun attacks cannot pass through units, while Kayn can cross terrain with Shadow Step(E); lane terrain and nearby units can change whether Graves can maintain his close-range damage.

How to play as Kayn

Respect Graves in early isolated fights and track him carefully; Kayn mains describe Graves as a strong counter to melee attack-damage junglers throughout the game, so avoid feeding his invade.
