If Zed fails to finish her in the short trade, her passive stacks and sustain let her continue a longer fight, supporting Irelia's low-Elo advantage.

How to play as Irelia

Use Defiant Dance(W) as Zed's shuriken is about to land during WEQ, and look to extend the trade when Living Shadow(W) is down; keep the wave on your side so he cannot freely poke and retreat.

Defiant Dance(W) reduces incoming physical damage while Irelia charges it; Zed's Razor Shuriken(Q) deals physical damage, so a well-timed charge can blunt that hit during his combo.
