Sylas vs Master Yi Jungle Matchup

Sylas Jungle wins 47.8% of 4,101 Low Elo games against Master Yi Jungle, -0.3 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.

Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.

How to play as Sylas

Land Abduct(E2) during a skirmish and keep the trade short; if Yi commits, steal Highlander(R) with Hijack(R) to create distance rather than standing in his sustained attacks.

A landed Abduct(E2) gives Sylas a pull-in for his burst, while Kingslayer(W) heals him in the trade; this short combo is more threatening before Yi can keep attacking.

Hijack(R) can steal Master Yi's Highlander(R), giving Sylas the same movement and attack-speed boost that he can use to chase or get away.

How to play as Master Yi

Watch for Sylas's Abduct(E2) before committing to a straight duel; if it misses, punish the cooldown, and if it lands, use Alpha Strike(Q) to avoid follow-up damage where possible. (Unverified: no source confirms this note.)
