Why Yuumi is favored

Yuumi can stay untargetable while attached, so Lux's roots cannot pick her out directly; when Lux pokes Yuumi's carry instead, Yuumi's shields and healing can erase that chip. This makes it harder for Lux to turn lane pressure into a kill before Yuumi contributes more in later fights.

Measured in High Elo: Yuumi wins 1.5pp more often than expected over 1,007 games.

How to play as Yuumi

Stay attached through Lux's poke and use Zoomies(E) to shield the carry from her burst. Detach to trade only after Lux has spent Light Binding(Q), since a root can stop your reattach.

While You and Me!(W) keeps Yuumi attached, she is untargetable to Lux's spells; Lux has to hit Yuumi's carry or wait for her to detach.

If Yuumi detaches, Lux's Light Binding(Q) can root her and immobilizing crowd control puts You and Me!(W) on a short lockout, creating a brief window before she can reattach.

How to play as Lux

Use Light Binding(Q) when Yuumi detaches instead of trying to target her while she is attached; if Q lands, follow up before she can reattach.
