How to play as Zyra

Wait for Alpha Strike(Q) to finish or for Yi to commit at close range before casting Grasping Roots(E); a long-range root gives him time to dodge it with untargetability. (Unverified: no source confirms this note.)

If Yi uses Meditate(W) after your root, save follow-up burst until its damage reduction ends; committing everything into the channel wastes part of the combo. (Unverified: no source confirms this note.)

Alpha Strike(Q) makes Master Yi untargetable, letting him avoid Grasping Roots(E) or Stranglethorns(R); Meditate(W) reduces incoming damage and can blunt Zyra's follow-up burst.
