Malzahar vs Kassadin Mid Matchup

Malzahar Mid wins 50.0% of 1,287 Low Elo games against Kassadin Mid, -1.0 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.

Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.

How to play as Malzahar

Use basic attacks and Malefic Visions(E) to chip Kassadin while last-hitting; this is the lane pressure a high-ranked Malzahar player recommends.

After level 6, bait Kassadin into Riftwalk(R) range, then use E-W-Q-R when your jungler can follow; the Malzahar player describes this as the punish for Kassadin jumping in.

Null Sphere(Q) interrupts channels, so Kassadin can cancel Nether Grasp(R) if he lands it while Malzahar is channeling.
