Ryze Mid wins 47.1% of 688 Low Elo games against Vladimir Mid, +1.5 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.

Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.

How to play as Ryze

Use your waveclear and poke to keep Vladimir under pressure, then take a roam when he is occupied farming; Ryze players name him as vulnerable to champions that permashove and harass. (Unverified: no source confirms this note.)

Wait for Sanguine Pool(W) to be down before committing your full rotation; Vladimir's pool can avoid your spells and has a much longer cooldown than Spell Flux(E). (Unverified: no source confirms this note.)

Sanguine Pool(W) makes Vladimir untargetable for two seconds, letting him avoid Ryze's targeted or projectile spells if he activates it before they land.
