Gragas vs Illaoi Top Matchup

Gragas Top wins 43.1% of 562 Low Elo games against Illaoi Top, -2.1 points vs expected, 2-patch window 26.19-26.20.

Researched on LoL patch 26.20. Tips are written to hold at any rank; stats come from Low Elo ranked games up to patch 26.20.

How to play as Gragas

Use Drunken Rage (W) to reduce Illaoi's Q poke, and respect her E once she has it. In a close fight, bait out Leap of Faith (R) before committing to melee range; if she ults in a teamfight, use your R to knock her away and buy time.

If Illaoi is exposed under your tower after taking tower shots, use Explosive Cask (R) to knock her farther into range for a punish.

Illaoi's Test of Spirit (E) creates a spirit whose damage is echoed to Gragas, so the tether can punish him even when she is not directly hitting his champion.
